Transfer ownership
Promote another member to owner.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Only the current owner can transfer ownership. Admins cannot.
- The incoming owner must already be a member of the syndicate. If they’re not, invite them first and wait until they accept.
- Transferring ownership demotes you to admin automatically. A syndicate always has exactly one owner.
- Ownership controls only one thing members cannot do: deleting the syndicate. All other admin-capable actions remain available to you afterwards. See Role capability matrix.
- Open the syndicate and switch to the Members tab.
- Tap the member you want to promote. The Edit Member dialog opens.
- Open the Role dropdown. The Owner option is listed at the top — it only appears when you, the current owner, are editing a different member.
- Select Owner.
- A Transfer Ownership? confirmation dialog appears: “{Name} will become the owner. You will be changed to Admin.” Tap Transfer to proceed or Cancel to back out.
- Tap Save in the Edit Member dialog to commit the change.
After saving, the promoted member is the owner. You are the admin. A snackbar confirms the change.
If it goes wrong
Section titled “If it goes wrong”- The Owner option isn’t in the role dropdown. You’re not the current owner, or you’re looking at your own membership. Only the current owner — editing a different member — can see the Owner option.
- You clicked the wrong member. Back out of the dialog with Cancel. Nothing has changed until you tap Save.
- You want to transfer back. The new owner must now repeat these steps to promote you.
