Admin

An admin is a member with operational control of a syndicate. Admins handle day-to-day management: inviting members, adding assets, approving bookings, confirming squawks, finalising bookings, approving expenses. Everything an owner can do except the two highest-stakes actions — deleting the syndicate and transferring ownership.

A syndicate can have any number of admins.

Owners and other admins can promote members to admin, and demote admins to member, from the member edit dialog. Admins cannot promote themselves or other admins to owner — that is an owner-only action.

Open any syndicate, go to the Members tab. Admins carry an “Admin” label. To promote a member, tap the member tile (admin or owner only) and change the role in the edit dialog.

  • Admins share most capabilities with owners. The two powers admins do not have are: delete the syndicate, and promote to or demote from owner.
  • Admin actions like finalisation and expense approval generate audit trail entries — the action records who performed it and when.
  • An admin cannot remove a member who has an outstanding balance — the app blocks the action and asks the admin to resolve the balance first.
  • An admin cannot remove the last remaining owner — see Owner.
  • An admin editing themselves can demote themselves to member, but cannot promote themselves to owner.
