Meter reading
A meter reading is the number shown on an engine meter (Hobbs, tacho, or custom) at a specific moment. In Syndik8, a meter reading is captured at the start and the end of each usage log.
The difference between start and end is the meter delta, which drives hourly billing when the syndicate’s billed measure is the engine meter.
The asset’s current meter reading is derived from all its logs: it is the highest reading ever recorded, floored at the asset’s opening baseline. A corrected reading that is lower than a previous one will bring the current value down accordingly. That derived value is what feeds previous-tacho pre-fill on the next flight.
