Credit
A credit is a ledger entry that reduces what a member owes the syndicate — or, if a member has a negative balance, moves the syndicate further into owing them money. Credits include approved expense reimbursements, recorded payments, reversals of bad charges, and negative manual adjustments.
Syndik8’s sign convention: credits are stored as negative amounts, debits as positive. A member’s balance is the signed sum of their transactions. A positive balance means you owe the syndicate; a negative balance means the syndicate owes you.
Contrast with a debit, which increases what the member owes.
