Debit

A debit is a ledger entry that increases what a member owes the syndicate. Debits include usage charges, event fees (landing, touch-and-go), minimum shortfalls, periodic dues, and maintenance expense splits.

Syndik8’s sign convention: debits are stored as positive amounts, credits as negative. A member’s balance is the signed sum of their transactions. A positive balance means the member owes the syndicate.

Contrast with a credit, which reduces what the member owes.
