Billing scheme
Billing scheme is the internal term for a named member rate. The two words name the same thing. Product-facing copy says “member rate”; older code, migrations, and some admin screens say “billing scheme”.
A billing scheme packages together a name (e.g. “Equity”, “Renter”, “Founder”), a periodic dues charge, and a rate modifier that adjusts the asset’s base usage rate. Every member is assigned to a named scheme or the syndicate’s default scheme.
One syndicate can run any number of schemes. That is the mechanism by which a single syndicate supports equity members, members on the renter rate, and founders concurrently without code changes.
