Billing scheme
Billing scheme is the internal term for a named member rate. The two words name the same thing. Product-facing copy says “member rate”; older code, migrations, and some admin screens say “billing scheme”.
A billing scheme packages together a name (e.g. “Equity”, “Renter”, “Founder”), a periodic dues charge, and a rate modifier that adjusts the asset’s base usage rate. Every member is assigned to exactly one scheme.
One syndicate can run any number of schemes. That is the mechanism by which a single syndicate supports equity members, members on the renter rate, and founders concurrently without code changes.
