Shortfall
A shortfall is the charge Syndik8 applies when a booking uses less than the minimum usage the syndicate has configured for the days it covers. Each asset can set a minimum usage per weekday and per weekend day; when a booking falls below that minimum, the difference is the shortfall in hours.
The shortfall charge is shortfall hours × shortfall rate in the syndicate’s currency. It is posted as a single ledger entry when the booking is finalised. The admin can waive the shortfall, reduce it, or override it during finalisation.
Maintenance bookings never carry a shortfall — the minimum-usage rule applies only to non-maintenance bookings.
