Explicit consent

Explicit consent is the heightened consent standard required under UK GDPR Article 9(2)(a) for processing special-category data — health data, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, and other categories the law sets aside for added protection. It must be specific, informed, unambiguous, freely given, documented, and withdrawable at any time.

In Syndik8, explicit consent is the legal basis for storing a pilot medical. Before a pilot uploads their first medical they are shown a consent screen that spells out what will be stored and who can see what; tapping Accept records the time of consent and the version of the wording accepted. The pilot can withdraw consent at any time, which deletes the medical and the consent record together.

In the app: shown on the Medical consent screen before first medical upload. Withdrawable via Settings → My documents → Withdraw medical consent. See Medical consent and Why medicals need explicit consent.
