Ship's papers

Ship’s papers is the GA pilot’s term for the documents customarily carried in an aircraft: insurance schedule, Airworthiness Review Certificate, Certificate of Airworthiness, Certificate of Registration, radio licence, noise certificate, Pilot’s Operating Handbook. They are the documents a ramp inspector expects to see when you stop overnight at a strange field. The UK CAA’s CAP 1919 sets out what is customary to carry.

In Syndik8, ship’s papers are the documents the offline cache is designed for: insurance, ARC, CofA, CofR, radio licence, noise cert, POH, and any other asset-level documents. On iOS and Android, in a single-asset syndicate all of an asset’s documents cache automatically and are marked “Available offline”. In a multi-asset syndicate each asset’s documents are an opt-in; tap “Cache on this device” in the asset’s section of the document library to enable caching for that asset. There is no fixed subset: once an asset is opted in, all of its documents cache. Pilot documents (your medical and licence) are personal, not ship’s papers; where you have uploaded them they cache to your own devices only, never to another member’s.

In the app: visible in the document library, cached via the Offline switch on each asset section. See Offline document cache.
