Correct an asset's opening meters

Correct an aircraft’s opening meters: the brought-forward readings it carried before it joined Syndik8 (airframe hours, engine/tacho reading, and landing cycles). You set these when you add the asset; correct them here if one was mis-entered (the classic “the airframe was 2250, not 1250”).

The running meter is always opening + everything logged since, so changing an opening moves the running total by the same amount; the hours flown since onboarding are kept, not lost.

  • You must be an admin of the syndicate.
  • You need to be online: the correction is an audited server action and cannot be made offline.
  • Have the correct figure to hand (e.g. from the aircraft’s logbook).
  1. Open the asset, then tap the Edit Asset pencil in the top bar.
  2. Scroll to Opening meters (brought forward). Each captured measure shows its opening field and, beneath it, the current running total with how much has been logged since, for example Current 1262.5 (12.5 logged since).
  3. Change the opening value(s) you need to correct. Leaving a field unchanged leaves that opening alone; you cannot blank an opening, only set it to another number.
  4. Tap Save. You will be asked “Why are you changing the opening?”; enter a short reason (it is recorded on the audit trail).
  5. Confirm. The opening is updated, the running meter is re-derived (opening + logged), and the maintenance “hours remaining” figures refresh.

Every opening change writes an audited old → new record with your reason, so the history of corrections is preserved. Opening values must be finite and non-negative; a stray entry is rejected rather than saved.
