Shortfall rate
The shortfall rate is the per-hour rate Syndik8 applies to the shortfall hours on a booking — the difference between the configured minimum usage for the booking and the actual usage logged. The shortfall charge is shortfall hours × shortfall rate.
The shortfall rate is set on the asset’s billing configuration, separately from the base usage rate. Many syndicates set it to the same figure as the usage rate; some set it lower (to soften the penalty) or higher (to discourage cherry-picking short slots).
Setting the weekday or weekend minimum usage to zero disables the shortfall check for that day type.
