Add a maintenance item

Create a scheduled maintenance item on an asset so Syndik8 can track when it is next due.

Before you start

Section titled “Before you start”
  • You must be an owner or admin on the syndicate.
  • Know the interval (for example, every 50 hours or every 365 days) and either the last-completed meter value or the last-completed date.

Steps

Section titled “Steps”
  1. Open the asset: Syndicate → Assets → [asset].
  2. Open Maintenance on the asset.
  3. Tap Add maintenance item.
  4. Choose Custom item. (To pick from a preset, follow Use a maintenance template instead.)
  5. Enter the Name (for example, 100-Hour Inspection).
  6. Enter an optional Description of what the work involves.
  7. Choose the Interval Type:
    • Hours — usage-based (engine hours).
    • Days — calendar-based (annual inspections, certificate renewals).
  8. Enter the Interval Value (for example, 100 for 100 hours, or 365 for 365 days).
  9. Record the last time this item was completed:
    • For Hours, enter the Current meter value when it was last completed (for example, 1200).
    • For Days, tap the date field and pick the Completed On date.
  10. Tap Save.

Syndik8 computes the next-due value or date and adds the item to the asset’s maintenance list.

If it goes wrong

Section titled “If it goes wrong”
  • “Interval value is invalid” — enter a positive number. No decimals are required for days.
  • “Value must be positive” — current meter value cannot be negative.
