Grounding
Grounding is the highest squawk severity in Syndik8. A grounding squawk indicates a critical safety or airworthiness issue: the asset must not be used until the issue is resolved or formally deferred.
A grounding squawk takes effect once it is open. By default a reported grounding squawk opens immediately; where the syndicate requires confirmation, a member’s squawk stays pending, and does not ground, until an admin confirms it. Once open, the asset is not airworthy: new bookings are blocked, and a banner on the asset detail lists the reason.
Open grounding squawks can be deferred with an expiry date and a recorded reason: the admin has judged the asset safe to operate until that date. Deferring returns the asset to service and restores the bookings the grounding had suspended. When the deferral date passes, the squawk grounds the asset again automatically and those bookings suspend once more.
