Member

A member is an ordinary participant in a syndicate. Members book the asset, log their own usage, submit expenses for reimbursement, report squawks, and pay the dues and charges their billing scheme defines.

“Member” is also the generic word for anyone attached to a syndicate in any role. An owner is a member; an admin is a member; a viewer is a member. When the distinction matters, use the specific role name.

“Renter” is not a role. It is a commonly-used label for a member rate with a low (or zero) dues amount and a higher hourly cost. Members on the renter rate still have the member role — see renter.
